This is a release with mainly little bug fixes and tweaks. Oh! And if you do a search, posts with tags that are like your search term will be included. This is probably the neatest addition (:

  • The bug in wordpress 2.1 which caused tags to vanish when a comment was made has been fixed Turns out that if you add a comment, it’s fine; but if you approve one, the tags will still vanish. Hrmpf.
  • I’m pretty sure you won’t end up with double-tags in feeds, any more
  • I’ve rejigged the way tags are added to feeds
  • Tag intersections should be working properly again
  • Tags can be added to pages (and will be included in tag cloud counts… displaying on tag pages, though…)
  • No more XSS vulnerability with the ajax URL parameter
  • There’s an invisible technorati tags format, now! (Handy for using with the automagically include tags on the Options > Tags page)
  • Search includes tags [I worry about this bit! let me know if you see anything weird]

I’ve tried it using wordpress versions 2.0.4, 2.0.7 and a 2.1 beta; and it seems to work in all three (:

The weather is being very unseasonal at the moment;  therefore:  soup for dinner.  Made from summer vegetables.

In the beginning,  take two capsicums, peeled and finely diced and saute with about a half dozen crushed garlic cloves over a medium-low element.  Once it smells like it’s “getting there”,  get three spring onions, slice, and add to the pot.

Next, take five tomatoes, and chop coarsely.  Once you’ve finished chopping, add those to the pot, too.   Lower the temperature just a little.
Next-next, take a head of broccoli,  and chop it so there are teeny little florets.  Big florets are no good in unpureed soup.  Trust me.

Almost finally, add a can of cannellini beans which have been strained.  Continue heating until the beans have been warmed through.

Finally, assault the soup with salt and pepper until it is just so;  then serve with grated parmesan on top (You can grate the parmesan while waiting for the beans to warm through.  Efficiency at its finest).  I made a line of parmesan across the middle of bowls.  It looked extra-swank.  However, my dig’ camera is missing at this time.  So you will just have to imagine it.

The Forums

I’m looking at getting the forums back online at the moment; so, uh, if anything odd happens, that’s why!

I’m moving away from phorum to use vanilla, instead; so there is a bit of datawrangling that needs to take place, including making new users (;

New forums are there! [although the caveat of creating new users still applies. If you were a registered user at the old forum, you can request a password change by going to the password request form thinger] Looks like I have all of the old data, and it even seems to be in a sensible form. Truely, this is a wonderful thing.

Where did all this stuff come from?

I’m moving house tomorrow and Friday. Hoorah.

An important consequence of this, is that I will be living with my computer again.

I’m not sure how I managed to accumulate quite so much stuff, though…

Another bug-fix release (:

– Tag feeds are working properly again (: Hopefully.. Depending on the version of wordpress you’re using.. (:
– There are a couple of performance tweaks: There’s a lot less javascript being downloaded most of the time (but with one javascript include for each post if you’re using the magical ajaxy format.. it seems like a worthy compromise!); and if you have a post with no tags, it will be added to the magical cache the first time it’s hit (previously it wasn’t, so there was a tag lookup for each request to a non-tagged page)
– The default category is now being included, if you are using automagic conversion of categories to tags.
– I think that’s it (:

A Vacation of Sorts

I’m heading off to Hastings for the weekend with the lovely and charming David; and a bunch of capoeira people (who are also lovely and charming). The blossom festival is happening, and there’s going to be a capoeira performance and some wandering along in the parade.

Pretty much just bugfixes in this release.

– Delete and rename no longer flange [oops]
– The superajax formatting bit no longer flanges [oops]
– Tagyu has vanished, so Tagyu suggestions have been removed
– I’ve changed the way includes hang together, so that the two main files are only included where they are needed. If UTW breaks for no reason, try uncommenting the bit with the path (and adjusting if needed) at the top of ultimate-tag-warrior.php

Ooh! For those of you with pretty-URL issues, it might be worth having a look at this rewrite workaround. It involves adding a plugin (Fix Greedy Rewrite Category), rather than changing files. Awesome.
